Tortilla and Tostada Facility


This company provides tortilla chips for the Western US. Members of our Food & Beverage team provided architectural and engineering services for a new 45,000 sq-ft tostada and tortilla chip manufacturing plant. The project included a separate oil storage building, 45' tall x 14' diameter storage silos, a 300' long x 20' wide steel mezzanine, 35,000 sq-ft of sloped epoxy floors, and provisions for numerous process lines. The entire process area has washable FRP ceilings and all lines have roof top mounted electrostatic precipitation devices to control odor. The project included such challenges as a long, narrow (300' x 130') site and heavy industrial zoning adjacent to residential zoning. The project was performed on schedule and under budget.
