Cake Mix Facility
This company provides contract manufacturing to Top Ten Food Manufacturers. Members of
our Food & Beverage team provided architectural and engineering for the retrofit of an existing 370,000-sq-ft breakfast bar facility for the manufacturing of dry cake mixes. The project involved the coordination and verification of existing building structural and mechanical systems in order to reuse as much of the existing infrastructure as possible. Additions to the facility included the installation of mixers on mezzanines with new steel supports, flour and sugar silos with pneumatic conveying from a railroad spur and new packaging lines. Our team coordinated seven prime construction contractors and consultants on the food processing systems. The efforts of the client and engineering team allowed production to start within six months of authorization-to-proceed.
