Coal Gasification Commercial Plant Feasibility Study

Valdes Engineering Company worked closely with this client to develop the front-end engineering package for a large scale commercial coal gasification plant. This plant will produce 300-500 MW of power using a proprietary "clean coal" technology to convert coal into-clean-burning pipeline-quality natural gas.

Valdes assisted in the development of the process design from bench scale testing through pilot plant construction by providing the process modeling, heat & material balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), major equipment specifications, conceptual plant layout, detailed cost estimates, and assistance in site selection and permit applications.
