Tank Program Management

A major Midwest oil refinery engaged the services of Valdes Engineering Company to provide ongoing program management and detailed engineering for their site-wide tank surveillance and maintenance program. This multi-year program involves hundreds of storage tanks of various size and service. The major areas of reliability focus include: API 653 tank integrity, failure analysis, engineered repairs and modifications, containment studies, emissions calculations, and compliance with federal, state and local regulations. The program has proven to be a success as a result of reduced down time on tank outages, reduced overall repair costs and the ability to maintain compliance schedules with improved product planning.
