High Pressure Boiler Feedwater Exchangers

A major Midwestern refinery selected Valdes Engineering Company  to install a new set of exchangers designed to preheat boiler feedwater. The project included both fixed and rotating equipment, which were specified by Valdes. Unique helical type heat exchangers were specified that included a baffle design. Valdes' scope of work included, process engineering, piping design, civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation engineering, project management and procurement services.

Valdes utilized a 3-D model to design this system, minimizing clashes and resulting in only 9 RFIs (Request for Information) during the construction phase of this $7MM project. There was also less than 1% of rework cost associated with the project, signifying a very successful design.
