Tom Duffy

Senior Project Manager - Power Sector

A power industry veteran with more than thirty-five years of experience, Tom is responsible for overseeing all projects within Valdes' Power Sector.

Prior to joining Valdes Engineering Company, Tom worked as a consulting engineer providing assistance to clients developing power projects in North America and abroad. During his thirty-year career at Sargent & Lundy Engineers in Chicago, Tom held a variety of managerial and executive level positions. As S&L's vice president of Fossil Power Engineering, he directed all activities related to fossil fuel power plant engineering projects within the Western United States and Canada. Tom's experience includes an impressive array of projects, including the coordination of new international power generation projects in China, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Kuwait and Turkey, as well as the supervision of all architectural, civil and structural design activities for eight coal-fired and ten nuclear-fueled power units in the United States.

Tom holds Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
