As Director of Business Operations, John is responsible for business development, marketing and the management of Valdes' client portfolio and reports directly to Bob Valdes. His primary focus is to ensure that the needs and expectations of clients are communicated throughout the organization and implemented on each and every project.

During his more than twenty years of mechanical engineering, construction and project management experience in the petroleum refining and petrochemical industries, John has performed every facet of the work, including conceptual design, estimating, economic justification, procurement, detailed engineering, scheduling, cost controls, construction oversight and post-project evaluations for both grass roots and revamp projects.

Prior to joining Valdes, John was employed by client firms such as ExxonMobil at its Torrance, CA, Paulsboro, NJ and Joliet, IL refineries; Lyondell/Equistar in Morris, IL; and Sun Refining in Marcus Hook, PA., as well as in the consulting engineering field.

John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
