Supplier Diversity Program Qualifications

Valdes continues to increase our purchases for a variety of products and services from certified diverse suppliers. To qualify as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) or Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) for Valdes Engineering Company Supplier Diversity Program, a business must meet the following conditions:

MBE: Minority Business Enterprise

An MBE is an independent for profit enterprise and is at least 51% owned, managed and controlled by a minority person(s). The term "minority persons" includes African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian Pacific Americans and Asian Indian Americans.

WBE: Women's Business Enterprise

A WBE is an independent for profit enterprise and is at least 51% owned, managed and controlled by one or more women.

Certification:

Proof of your firm's minority or women owned status is required. Valdes will accept certification documents from qualified agencies such as:

• National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC)

• NMSDC Regional Minority Business Development Councils (39 Statewide)
• Women's Business Development Center (WBDC)
