Valdes reaches agreement with Marathon-Detroit Refinery
Valdes Engineering Company has reached an agreement with Marathon Petroleum, LLC Detroit Refinery to provide engineering and procurement services for the capital projects group. Ed Stukas, Senior Project Manager, has been selected to lead the effort for Valdes and is beginning to develop the procedures and work processes necessary to support a quality project delivery program, which Valdes is known for. Valdes welcomes Marathon Detroit.

Valdes Pipe Stress Team Answers the Call
A major Midwest coal fired power plant had significant damage as a result of full load unit trips. Within hours, the Valdes staff of pipe stress analysis engineers were on site determining what repairs were required to safely return the unit to operation. Over the next several days, Valdes engineers worked with the plant staff and on-site contractor around the clock to design and support the fabrication and installation of the repairs.

Valdes Awarded GTG Feasibility Study
Valdes Engineering Company has been awarded the feasibility study phase for the installation of a nominal 50 MW Gas Turbine Generator facility. The new GTG would provide power for internal use at the existing industrial facility as well as heat integration benefits that would significantly reduce total energy consumption.

Valdes' Technology Team adds COADE's CADWorx
Valdes has recently added COADE's CADWorx to its growing portfolio of 3D software technology. "It is essential that we continue to expand our technology options and find new ways to bring value to our clients. If you're not constantly pushing to improve, you will quickly be passed by," states Arv Vasonis, Valdes' Engineering Manager and head of the Valdes Technology Team. The Valdes Technology Team, a cross-functional group of engineers and design professionals, is responsible for the continuous evaluation and recommendations of new technology to be incorporated into the Valdes portfolio.
